The ecorend BA3 Fast Set Bead Adhesive is a cementitious, fast-curing product that is water repellent, highly polymer modified, breathable and, as mentioned above, has excellent adhesion. Formulated by some of the brightest chemists in the industry, the BA3 Fast Set Bead Adhesive has been developed with the buildings and the applicators’ focus in mind – performance, durability, and ease of use. As with all our products, we make sure they don’t just do what they are supposed to do; we make sure applicators enjoy using it, and so far… so good! Unlike tube-style products, the BA3 Fast Set Bead Adhesive is a 25kg bagged product, that has the added benefit of the packaging being made from 30% recycled material, is 100% waterproof and is fully recyclable. Because of this, applicators can mix up as little or as much as they require, to save the rest for another (hopefully not rainy) day.
From trying it first-hand and speaking with our ecorend Registered Contractors up and down the country, time and time again, the feedback is how more manageable and cost-effective it is over other bead adhesives. Many of our Registered Contractors who had previously used base coats or other render bead adhesives, have made the switch and say they won’t be looking back, as the quality of the product, along with the speed a project can be completed in, is saving time and money. Not only does it have all the fantastic advantages highlighted already, but from a cost-effective perspective, one bag will provide circa 80 linear metres of beading. The breathability of the BA3 Fast Set Bead Adhesive is another feature that takes it to a higher level – with ‘traditional’ bead adhesives, there is always the risk of delamination from moisture penetration, and most tubed bead adhesives struggle to adhere if the substrate is damp/wet. But when using the BA3 Fast Set Bead Adhesive, there is no need for any other additional product to be used when the substrate is saturated – just apply straight on (unless the project is a refurb and the substrate is friable, then we’d advise using ecorend Primers)
When applying, we recommend a working time of around 30 minutes – little and often is key – only mix what you can apply in those 30 minutes and keep that process rolling throughout the project. The BA3 Fast Set Bead Adhesive will hold straight away, so you can dub it out up to 15mm, which is a great advantage for new builds, where the quality of brickwork and clockwork may be undulating. Set time is between two to three hours, which, if you haven’t guessed it already… drum roll, please… you can render straight onto it, no need to wait the ‘traditional’ 24hrs setting period. Due to the fast set time, there will be no bleed-through from solvents coming out of the product and going into the render – especially during the adverse weather months, when the overnight scrapes start to kick in. Bead up in the morning – render in the afternoon – enjoy your evening, with the BA3 Fast Set Bead Adhesive, you’ll be able to save time and money by completing projects far quicker.
