Thin Coat Renders

Explore Our Range of Thin Coat Renders

Our thin coat render is a versatile and efficient solution, providing a sleek and durable finish for a wide range of architectural applications.

Silicone, acrylic and quartz renders are usually called ‘thin coat renders’ because they’re applied in a very thin layer on top of a reinforced base coat. They are supplied as ready mixed, wet render that provides a consistent product that is ready to go straight out of the pack.

Thin coat render has the advantage of being very flexible, providing good crack resistance and durability, whilst providing unrivalled weather resistance. Their exceptional flexibility enables intricate and customised finishes, empowering architects, builders, and homeowners to achieve their desired aesthetic outcomes.

Thin coat systems are great for projects where a premium, long-lasting, durable product is required. Thin coat renders provide a minimum 25yr+ life expectancy.

Sometimes known as mosaic render, quartz render is a pioneering thin rendering solution meticulously formulated with high-grade quartz aggregates.

Quartz render is inherently water-resistant, providing a reliable barrier against moisture ingress and water penetration. This flexible, durable, water-resistant coating is designed to excel in demanding applications such as basements, foundation works, retaining walls, wet rooms, below DPC, and swimming pool surrounds, where a robust and impact-resistant coating is imperative.

With its flexible formulation, ecorend quartz render also offers enhanced crack resistance and flexibility, accommodating the natural movement of building substrates without compromising performance. This flexibility minimises the risk of cracking and ensures a flawless finish.

ecorend thin coat renders are available in a wide choice of colours and textures. They are increasingly specified for both residential and commercial projects where performance and aesthetics must work hand-in-hand.

Thin coat render systems can be applied by either hand or machine. They should always be applied by an experienced contractor and when the weather is dry.

Most render systems require a low humidity and warm temperature above 5°C, meaning render is usually best applied during spring, summer and autumn. However, ecorend SR365 Ultimate Silicone Thin Coat is uniquely able to be applied in temperatures ranging from -5°C to +25°C, in humidities up to 99% and is rainproof in just 2 hours, allowing you to render in all seasons.

All ecorend products undergo extensive testing and quality control processes, ensuring our systems perform to the exacting standards of our clients.

Many of our render products are certified by the British Board of Agrément (BBA), attesting to their compliance with rigorous technical and environmental standards. This includes our BBA-certified SR365 Ultimate Silicone Thin Coat Render.

High-performance renders help protect substrates by:

  • Providing water resistance to prevent moisture ingress
  • Allowing controlled breathability
  • Offering impact resistance and anti-crack properties
  • Acting as a protective barrier against environmental exposure

This helps extend the life of the building envelope and reduce repair cycles.

ecorend thin coat renders are designed as durable coloured façade finishes, but like all external wall finishes they still benefit from routine inspection and sensible maintenance.

Typical care includes checking for dirt build-up, biological growth, cracks from background movement, and localised damage around openings or details. Cleaning methods should always match the product guidance and site conditions.
