This home had previously been finished in a sand and cement render. After removing the old finish, remedial works were carried out to ensure the walls were brought up to a standard suitable for render application.
Because of the age of the property, it is likely to suffer from more movement than newer properties. This substrate movement increases the risk of render cracking at high-stress locations such as windows and doors, so a mesh was carefully embedded into the render’s base coat. This mesh helps reduce the risk of cracking.
Our ecorend K11 Key Coat Primer was first used to create a smooth, even surface ready for the application of the ecorend MR1 Monocouche One Coat Render.
